Description
Manning the beacon and keeping the lamps lit was a necessary lifesaving position and isolated calling for the lighthouse keeper. I have visited lights throughout the Great Lakes and from coast to coast. I’ve journeyed from Grand Traverse bay to White Fish Point to Split Rock Lighthouse, from Portland Head Light to Cape Blanco. The romance, history and oddly-comforting solitude at each of these outposts was palpable. This book brings you a taste of that life and that culture.
