Description
Flannel John was born in Northern Wisconsin and raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He has hunted and fished in 40 states, Canada and Mexico. He is the inspiration and collaborator on this book. Along with old friend and author Tim Murphy, the two have collected thousands of recipes in their travels, 138 are compiled here. They are mostly easy, fairly quick and very tasty. Whether you’re tracking deer in the U.P. woods, scouting for elk in Colorado, duck hunting in the Dakotas or ice fishing on a Minnesota lake…food keeps the camp sane. A hearty breakfast or sustainable snack keeps the senses keen. Dinner can be a celebration of bagging that 10-point buck or warming comfort when the stringer is empty. Breaking bread, eating from the community pot and telling stories bonds us all. In the end, a good meal makes for a good day.
